Why DVD

The simplest way to watch your old tapes

No computer, no apps, no streaming — just press play.

Not everyone wants to deal with cloud storage or digital files. If you just want to sit down, put a disc in, and watch your old home movies on the TV, DVD is still the easiest way to do that. No logins, no buffering, no figuring out which app to use. It just works.

DVDs also make great gifts. Hand a grandparent a labeled disc of their kid's first birthday or a family reunion from 1993, and they can watch it the same day. No tech support needed. It's the kind of thing that ends up getting rewatched at every holiday.

Every tape is played back on calibrated decks, captured at the best quality the format allows, and burned to a standard DVD-Video disc that works in any player. We label each disc so you can tell them apart, and ship everything back with your original tapes.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about our VHS to DVD service.

How many tapes fit on one DVD?

A standard DVD holds about 2 hours of video. If your tape is shorter than that, we can fit multiple tapes on a single disc — just let us know when you order. Longer tapes get split across discs automatically.

Can I get both digital files and DVD?

Yes. Just select your preferred service tier and add the DVD option. You'll get your digital files delivered online plus a set of ready-to-play DVDs shipped to your door.

Do you label the DVDs?

Every disc gets a printed label with the tape name or number so you can tell them apart. If you include a list of titles with your order, we'll use those instead.

What format are the DVDs?

We burn standard DVD-Video discs that play in any DVD player, laptop, or game console with a disc drive. No special software needed — just pop it in and press play.
